Judging from the development of the photovoltaic market in recent years, the European and American markets are still the dominant force, but the pace of photovoltaic development in developing countries is not inferior to the latter. As a world-renowned solar mounting system manufacturer, CHIKO Solar has been closely following the development trend of the international photovoltaic market.
A new opportunity for solar mounting system manufacturers, the total installed capacity of the rooftop photovoltaic system in Vietnam is 925.8MW!
Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam issued a new Circular 18, which replaced Circular 16 and drafted detailed guidelines on the development of solar power projects in Vietnam.
Hoang Quoc Vuong, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, recently stated that the rapid development of rooftop solar power generation systems in Vietnam has partially met the demand for electricity.
However, new investment projects are actually facing many difficulties and problems.
According to the policy of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, new projects can be integrated into the power grid system in areas with potential for production capacity release. According to Prime Minister Decree No. 13/2020/Q-TTg, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will continue to create favorable investment conditions for the project.
This is undoubtedly a huge development opportunity for solar mounting system manufacturers like CHIKO Solar. CHIKO Solar has been deploying the development of the Vietnamese photovoltaic market many years ago, and has made small achievements by establishing multiple agents and warehouses in Vietnam.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam recently issued a new Circular 18 to replace Circular 16. In addition, the Ministry has drafted detailed guidelines on the development of solar power projects in Vietnam.
Prior to this, the Prime Minister of Vietnam made a decision on the new solar feed-in tariff policy. The decision will take effect on August 31, 2020, and developers need to follow new guidelines related to the development of grid-connected solar power plants and rooftop solar systems.
In addition, the decision also introduced a new model of grid-connected solar power plant power purchase agreement and another new model of grid-connected rooftop solar system, clarified and updated the previous model of power purchase agreement.
Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam plans to develop 1,000MWp solar rooftop power generation projects in the city’s industrial parks, export processing zones and high-tech parks by 2024. Currently, the installed capacity of such projects is 700 MWp.
According to data from the Vietnam Electric Power Company, so far, about 42,187 rooftop solar projects have been put into operation, with a total installed capacity of 925.8MWp.
On June 19, the Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing Zone and Industrial Park Administration (Hepza), Hepza Business Association, and Ho Chi Minh City Electricity Company launched a plan for these areas to encourage companies to participate and achieve the 1,000MWp target.
