Germany: As Of February 2021, The Cumulative Installation Of Solar Brackets Reached 54.52GW

According to data released by the German Federal Network Agency Bundesnetzagentur, Germany added 351 megawatts of solar capacity in February 2021, an increase of 4% compared to the same period last year. The country installed 529 megawatts of solar power generation capacity in January this year. Compared with January 2021, installations in February dropped by 33%.
 
The notice pointed out that due to the growing demand for clean and sustainable energy and the increasing degree of urbanization, the solar mounting structure market is expected to gain tremendous growth momentum.
 
According to the revised data, by the end of February 2021, the cumulative installed capacity reached 54.52GW.
 
In 2013, Germany added 3.3 GW of installed solar capacity, which dropped to 1.9 GW in 2014, and reached 1.5 GW in 2015 and 2016. It started to rebound to 1.75 GW in 2017, and then climbed rapidly, reaching respectively in 2018-2020. 3 GW, 4.03 GW and 4.88 GW.
 
The solar mounting bracket system is used to install photovoltaic modules on the ground, exterior walls, buildings, roofs and other building structures. The materials used in these systems usually depend on the climate.

Last December, Bundesnetzagentur announced the auction results for solar and onshore wind energy projects. The agency received 45 bids in its 256.9 MW solar tender, totaling 264.15 MW of solar projects. The lowest price for solar tenders is €0.048/kWh, the highest price is €0.052/kWh, and the average price is €0.051/kWh.
 
Earlier, the German Federal Cabinet approved amendments to the "Renewable Energy Law" aimed at achieving its goal of increasing the proportion of renewable energy to 65% by 2030.
 
With these amendments, Germany's current goal is to increase the annual solar bidding volume to nearly 1.9 to 2 GW, onshore wind between 2.9 to 5.8 GW, and nearly 500 MW of biomass energy.
 
The German government plans to increase its cumulative solar capacity from the current 52 GW to 83 GW in 2026, and to 100 GW in 2030. Germany also plans to achieve a cumulative increase of onshore wind power capacity to 65 GW by 2026 and 71 GW by 2030. The current cumulative capacity is 54 GW.
