Without requiring any roof excavation, assembly of the entire array can be completed before securing it to the roof. A simple cam lock ensures the module is securely locked in place. Chiko's flexible design, with variable tilt angles (up to 20?), gives it unmatched ability to accommodate a wide range of roof types, and improves module performance at northern latitudes. Angled support components serve as wind deflectors to maximize system wind tolerance, ensuring the system can be built on even the most challenging roof. Chiko's ruggedized aluminum and stainless steel construction is built to take on years of harsh weather, wind, rain and snow drifts.
 
Chiko solar represents the culmination of over 7 years of development and testing in real-world conditions, with installations in the US and Europe representing over 20MW of power production, including a major sports arena and a power grid operator in California and a major food distribution facility in New Jersey.
 
Roof component. Chiko solar to attach the array to the building in either a ballasted or traditional installation with no excavation of the roof deck, no truss attachments, and no special tools or equipment. Roofing engineering and manufacture approvals are typically not required because no connection to the building structure is needed. The entire solar array can be assembled prior to attaching the system to the roof deck. This method greatly reduces installation time, ensures a precise design, and creates a more cooperative workspace. Minimal training is needed for installation, allowing the entire installation process to occur with one tool.
 

 
Chiko roof hook and Slot Locking System.Chiko's patented pending Cam and Slot Locking System is a revolutionary attachment method for commercial solar. With a simple hook located top and bottom on the racking system, the module slides in place and is firmly attached with minimal effort. Once locked, the module is grounded and the cam lock will not disengage under load, ensuring a permanent attachment with no concern for torque settings or installation errors.
 
Chiko rack system Design. Chiko solar absorbs pitch changes in excess of six degrees in all directions, providing a level of design flexibility that was previously unavailable in commercial rooftop solar. For example, the system can be used on curved roofs without needing to break up the arrays.
 
Lightweight. Chiko's 2.3 lbs/sq ft. (including the module) installed weight is one of the lightest all-metal racking systems on the market today.
 
Weather Resistant. Chiko solar has been wind tunnel tested and proven to function at wind loads in excess of 160 mph. Integrated wind fairings and side panels can be installed should climate conditions require additional reinforcement. Chiko's aluminum and stainless steel construction combined with its unique roofing interaction make it an ideal solution for installation in harsh climates or difficult work environments.
